Publisher’s Summary

The Sunday Times Number One Bestseller.

Over 10 million copies sold around the world.

The original book from Morgan Housel, the New York Times and Sunday Times bestselling author of Same As Ever and The Art of Spending Money.

As featured on the Dr Chatterjee podcast Feel Better, Live More and The Diary of a CEO podcast with Steven Bartlett.

Doing well with money isn’t necessarily about what you know. It’s about how you behave. And behavior is hard to teach, even to really smart people.

Money – investing, personal finance, and business decisions – is typically taught as a math-based field, where data and formulas tell us exactly what to do. But in the real world people don’t make financial decisions on a spreadsheet. They make them at the dinner table, or in a meeting room, where personal history, your own unique view of the world, ego, pride, marketing, and odd incentives are scrambled together.

In The Psychology of Money, award-winning author Morgan Housel shares 19 short stories exploring the strange ways people think about money and teaches you how to make better sense of one of life’s most important topics.

What Audible Listeners Are Saying

5/5 stars — “good book “
I really enjoyed this book the main takeaways are that
* We don’t need a reason to save because life is unpredictable
* You should always have a plan untop of a plan because there is no guarantees in life
*A good financial plan is one that is realistic and leaves room for error, as error is inevitable
If you have 90 percent of success the next 10 percent will happen atleast onces or twice in your decision making.
*Some situations that happen to us we are unable to see ever happening which is why it’s good to save for no reason because you can’t plan for something that has never happened let along happened to you.
*Find out what you want and what’s best for you because it is impossible to adapt someone else’s strategies to the t and expect it to work just the same.
*Keep your cost of living lower that what you earn and save the remaining.
* Greed is more costly than the price we pay for the things we need.

5/5 stars — “Great Book—Will listen again”
I am surprised by how many people didn’t find this book amazing. It’s short, easy to listen to, and I learned a lot from it. The author doesn’t lecture, just lay out the facts and psychology behind our financial moves. Consumerism worked for the US economy in the past, but will not in the future as time and environment are different. With QE and low savings rate, the economy is going to the road of peril that needs great people to bring us back on track.
The performer was good enough and very clear in speech, and just like listening to a friend talking. Only thing is the recording is not great so you hear the pausing and the throat clearing.

4/5 stars — “Great recommend”
I liked how he made the book sound simple and the actions not so hard to implement. I have it a four stars because I don’t fully agree with some of the initial things the author spoke about. But who knows you might. There’s nothing wrong with the book and it is a great listen. The reader made it very enjoyable to listen to. I’d recommend this book to someone trying to reach financial freedom but they’re somewhere between starting off and the end point.
Good luck listeners and readers
