A NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER!
Another thrilling domestic suspense novel from the New York Times bestselling author of The Couple Next Door
A long-ago accident—and a visitor from out of the blue. . .
Stephanie and Patrick are adjusting to life with their colicky twin girls. The babies are a handful, but even as Stephanie struggles with the disorientation of sleep deprivation, there’s one thing she’s sure of: she has all she ever wanted.
Then Erica, a woman from Patrick’s past, appears and makes a disturbing accusation. Patrick had always said his first wife’s death was an accident, but now Erica claims it was murder.
Patrick insists he’s innocent, that this is nothing but a blackmail attempt. Still, Erica knows things about Patrick–things that make Stephanie begin to question her husband. Stephanie isn’t sure what, or who, to believe. As Stephanie’s trust in Patrick begins to falter, Patrick stands to lose everything. Is Patrick telling the truth–is Erica the persuasive liar Patrick says she is? Or has Stephanie made a terrible mistake?
How will it end?

What Audible Listeners Are Saying
4/5 stars — “Bad male voice”
The book was good the story was good and the narrator was good however I did not like it when she read the make voice. Other than that it was good!— EL, Audible listener
3/5 stars — “unrealistic character choices”
The story is not bad but I’m not even finished yet and had to stop and write out my frustration. Although I’ve never left a written review before, I feel very frustrated with character actions. Without spoilers the one couple had everything to gain by calling the police to report the extortion. It would have protected them and the adopted son as well as corroborated the others story about the women villan. The main characters wife was unbelievable. Seriously, who let’s their self get so sleep deprived to the point of dangerousness with out getting help. That was lamely explained away by saying she couldn’t sleep with someone else watching the babies. if you are that exhausted for that long of a duration, your body would over ride your brain. In short I found that most of the characters made ridiculous unbelievable decisions.— tonya y., Audible listener
5/5 stars — “As good as the reviews! “
Give it a chance and you will not be disappointed at the end. I am looking forward to book two!All hail the queen 👸🏻👸🏻of the page turners.
You’d think the plot of the wife and husband who are living happily in life would be just another one of those books. But no. It’s not. It’s crazy from chapter 2 until the end. And each of the characters introduced have a place in the story and it falls together brilliantly. Sorry where was i ….cut to an x lover comes back to Stir the pot. And that she does.
The way Shari puts those twists and turns are what makes her stand out an author like no other.
This book is not what you think and it’s wasn’t you guessed. It’s totally the opposite and the ENDING ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Is. The. Best.— Lisa, Audible listener
