Publisher’s Summary
Sarah J. Maas’s CRESCENT CITY series begins with House of Earth and Blood: the story of half-Fae and half-human Bryce Quinlan as she seeks revenge in a contemporary fantasy world of magic, danger, and searing romance.
Bryce Quinlan had the perfect life-working hard all day and partying all night-until a demon murdered her closest friends, leaving her bereft, wounded, and alone. When the accused is behind bars but the crimes start up again, Bryce finds herself at the heart of the investigation. She’ll do whatever it takes to avenge their deaths.
Hunt Athalar is a notorious Fallen angel, now enslaved to the Archangels he once attempted to overthrow. His brutal skills and incredible strength have been set to one purpose-to assassinate his boss’s enemies, no questions asked. But with a demon wreaking havoc in the city, he’s offered an irresistible deal: help Bryce find the murderer, and his freedom will be within reach.
As Bryce and Hunt dig deep into Crescent City’s underbelly, they discover a dark power that threatens everything and everyone they hold dear, and they find, in each other, a blazing passion-one that could set them both free, if they’d only let it.

What Audible Listeners Are Saying
4/5 stars — “Main Narrator is NOT AI”
I almost missed out on the brilliance that is this graphic audio as the sample made it seem as though the main narrator was AI and not a true narrator. That confused me greatly as I know how much Sarah J Maas as an input on her stories and for a great reason. This author knows how to create a fantastic and brilliant fantasy world that is addicting. I did have to read the first part of the graphic audio twice to understand everything that was happening. (If reading the book, it’s roughly about the first 100 pages of the story). Sarah is once again setting up a new world with a lot of new characters. There is a lot happening in Crescent City and the world they belong in.And while this is being setup, Sarah is creating a connection to Bryce and Danika, friends who were soul mates without the romance. They had a bond that could be felt with their minimal interactions and stories they share of their past. Sarah is building up the tension and loss that comes when Danika and her pack are eliminated. It is from that loss that Bryce is then forced to move on with her life with no answers. In a twist, she is tasked to work with a fallen angel, Hunt, to learn what really happened to Danika and her pack.
Part 1 of this graphic audio is setting up this world and these characters. You get a chance to learn who is connected to who and in what capacity. There is a lot of information being shared but I felt every moment between characters. This group of narrators were brilliant in bringing this story to life. I loved that for the most part, the main characters were voiced from narrators not that well known. It allowed me to not have an association with other characters or stories. I’m truly looking forward to part 2 within this graphic audiobook.

The Cast did very well. The sound effects are amazing and really enhances the story!— Kindle Customer, Audible listener
5/5 stars — “Love the full cast to tell the story “
Truthfully I prefer ACOTAR because it’s set in simpler times, and the mix of current technology with ancient mythology is a little harder to get into. And there is so many names of creatures, titles and cities etc to keep track of. But over all I’m invested in the characters and I will be listening to the dramatized versions for sure. I hope they don’t take forever to produce.— B. Quick, Audible listener
