When old secrets catch fire, everything will burn.
In a mortal world colonized by the gods and ruled over by their cruel offspring, the Descended, Diem Bellator yearns to escape the insular life of her poor village.
Her mother’s sudden disappearance—and the discovery of a dangerous secret about her past—offer Diem an unexpected opportunity to enter the dark world of Descended royalty and unlock the web of mysteries her mother left behind.
With the dying king’s handsome, mysterious heir watching her every move and a ruthless mortal alliance recruiting her to join the growing civil war, Diem will have to navigate the unwritten rules of love, power, and politics in order to save her family—and all of mortal kind.
Spark of the Everflame is the first book in The Kindred’s Curse Saga, a four-book epic fantasy romance series that follows our feisty, bad*ss heroine Diem Bellator in her fight against injustice and oppression, her struggle to survive in a royal palace full of betrayal and intrigue, and her journey of self-discovery and finding true love. What Audible Listeners Are Saying
4/5 stars — “Good Story”
This was a good book, not a great book. I agree with other reviewers, the MFC is very naive and does not make good decisions. She tends to believe what she is told, instead of learning by what she sees with her own eyes. It is very frustrating as a reader. Even with that being said, it is still a good book. The world building is good, and it is exciting, so I am going to buy the second book in the series. If you are a romantasy lover, I’d still recommend picking up this book to decide for yourself. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed enough to regret listening to it.— John, Audible listener
4/5 stars — “Awesome!”
Genuinely so surprised at how great this story was! I was engaged the entire time, the fmc made choices I didn’t agree with but excited to see her grow in the series. The reason it’s not a 5 star was because some parts were predictable and I could tell where the story was heading.
wish the other books were available on audio but will be continuing via kindle!!— Yaya, Audible listener
4/5 stars — “Good Storyline but Awful Narrator “
I really enjoyed the story and world building but Amanda Dolan has always sounded like a mid 40s woman with a shrilly voice. I don’t mind her narration for male characters but it’s like nails on a chalk board listening to her narrate female characters.— Lauren, Audible listener
