My faith in Rebecca Yarros has officially been restored! 😂After Onyx Storm left quite a bit to be desired (I started and stopped that book FOUR times), I wasn’t sure what to expect from Threshing Day. But if this is a sign of what’s to come, I’m all here for it!
I absolutely adored the banter between the dragons and their riders. Getting to see more of those relationships added so much personality to the dragons and made me feel even more invested in them moving forward. Although, knowing Rebecca Yarros, I can’t help but wonder if she’s just setting us up for some future emotional destruction. 😂
I also don’t think you necessarily need to read Onyx Storm before picking this one up. You should absolutely read books one and two, but I almost wonder if Onyx Storm might be more enjoyable AFTER Threshing Day, especially with the additional insight into the dragons and their riders.
And can we talk about the GraphicAudio production?! The performances were fantastic across the board, and the sound design really brought everything to life. Hearing the dragons surrounding the characters made it so much easier to visualize the scenes. It was such an immersive listening experience!
Overall, this was exactly what I needed to get excited about this world again. I’m really hoping this is a sign of good things to come for the rest of the series!

Another incredible listen. Rebecca’s story telling is gripping and emotionally taxing in the best way. Graphic audio has a talent for casting the perfect voices for each character, including the dragons.
