What Audible Listeners Are Saying
2/5 stars — “Good approach, bad examples”
The approach remains good (2e -> 3e). It’s a good way to handle accountability conversations and a solid analysis of why traditional approaches fail. The 3e is is also roughly half the size of the 2e and is better organized, which is a plus.
The main problem is with the examples. I took off one star for DEI-washing the characters in the examples from 2e and 2 stars for some particularly absurd examples like the repo man one. The examples significantly discredit the book. Using the six influences model is enlightening here. Also subtracting one star for nativephobic/racial bias.
I was also expecting better guidance on how to deal with remote work environment issue, but the book is lacking.

1/5 stars — “Ai garbage”
The author seemed like an interesting human being in podcasts promoting the book. Chapter 01 suggests that is not true.— Patrick Tsunehiro, Audible listener
