How to Cancel Audible Membership (And Keep Every Book You Ever Bought)

Canceling your Audible membership does not remove access to books you’ve already purchased with a credit or cash — those remain in your library permanently, even after cancellation.

How to Cancel (Desktop/Mobile Browser)

  1. Sign in to Audible.com in a web browser (cancellation is not available inside the mobile app itself)
  2. Hover over or tap your username in the top navigation
  3. Select Account Details
  4. Select Cancel membership and confirm

If You Subscribed Through Apple or Google

If your Audible membership was billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, you must cancel from that platform’s subscription settings instead — Audible’s own cancellation page cannot cancel a subscription billed elsewhere.

  • iPhone/iPad: Settings → your Apple ID → Subscriptions → Audible → Cancel Subscription
  • Android: Google Play Store → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Audible → Cancel subscription

What You Keep, What You Lose

  • You keep: Every title purchased with a credit or cash, downloadable again anytime, forever
  • You lose: Access to anything from the Plus Catalog (the included streaming library) that wasn’t separately purchased, plus any unused credits

Alternative: Pause Instead of Cancel

If you have unused credits you don’t want to lose, Audible offers a pause option on the same account page as an alternative to full cancellation — pausing preserves existing credits without an active monthly charge.
