It was a good story, and I genuinely loved the twist at the end. That said, I don’t think it quite lived up to the BookTok hype for me. I almost wish I’d gone into it without all of the over-the-top reviews and expectations.If you’re looking for a unique, low-spice fantasy with plenty of action and adventure, I definitely recommend giving it a try. I really loved this book. I love the way she develops the main characters love story. I absolutely loved the plot twists. And I enjoyed the FMC narrator. I did not like the MMC narrator. Especially when he narrates the character Daak. It reminds me of what Gaston from beauty and the beast would sound like it’s just so awful to me, but the book is so good that you can overlook that.
