What Audible Listeners Are Saying

5/5 stars — “I Wish There Was More”
I love David Sedaris, I have several of his books and I love his wry, dry sense of humor. I always enjoy hearing him read and I think, in this case, he seemed to be enjoying himself. I thought it was too short and not really price appropriate. But I laughed and enjoyed what was there.

5/5 stars — “David Sedaris .. always fun.”
Oh my gosh. I listen to all his books over and over again. My husband has surprised me with two of his readings. I never laughed so hard. I love the story about his babysitters. Mrs. Peacock is my favorite. So, so southern , even I needed a translator. I enjoy his cadence. He has perfect timing. And he seems to share a lot of his life with us. Just glad I’m not in his family. Just the Beginning. As you can tell I’m a huge fan. I love all his world travel and personal tales. He’s funny to everyone. After my husband overcame his homophobia. Yes he was one of those. He loves him as much as I do.

— The Dark Side, Audible listener

5/5 stars — “Laughed the whole way through”
I love David Sedaris. The first time I heard him he was describing his job as a Macys Santa Elf and I was hooked from there. He’s an understated and engaging writer. I dont think I had a favorite character per se. Yes. And this one has been funnier than the others Ive read There were plenty of times were I was laughing out loud This is a really good collection of shorts. The only problem is. It’s so short. I thought my app had malfunctioned when it ended an hour and change into the recording.
