What Audible Listeners Are Saying

No subtlety here. Bear runs on pure emotion. No fieldcraft. Very little situational awareness in spite of his experience. The narrative twists and turns on, Oops! Didn’t see that coming–gotta fight for my life. Or, bad guys on the horizon, must rush in without a plan–leading to "Oops! Didn’t see that coming–gotta fight for my life." The plot is fine. The writing is just okay. The Jack Noble series is better with L.T. Ryan as the only author. It’s like the Jack Reacher series where Lee Child’s child is doing the writing these days. A significant drop in talent. But, I made it through all 3 books and found them somewhat entertaining if not very exciting. The last one was the least good. Which is why I have a bit of a bland aftertaste about the whole package. It’s also a bit boring where they wear out their welcome in every place they find themselves and have to move on–presumably to get into local trouble again. The teaser on the last one of these three is that the FBI has now connected the dots on where Riley Logan is and, apparently, although his file has been scrubbed, someone in the intel agencies still has it in for him–probably an agent who is also a criminal villain if I had to guess. all three stories were well crafted and the characters really came to life as you got into each story. I love the location each book was set it the writers really out solid themselves setting tge stage of the story and lid them out out well wealth very little parts tht seemed to drag.— Rich Rathbun, Audible listener
