Audible currently offers three membership tiers. Here’s what each one actually includes, based on Audible’s published 2026 pricing.
Audible Plus — $7.95/month
- Unlimited streaming from the Plus Catalog (11,000+ included titles, podcasts, and Audible Originals)
- No monthly credits — you cannot buy titles outside the Plus Catalog with this plan
- Access ends immediately if you cancel
Audible Premium Plus — $14.95/month
- Everything in Plus, plus 1 credit per month redeemable for any title in the full premium catalog, regardless of retail price
- Titles bought with a credit are yours to keep forever, even after canceling
- 30% discount on additional purchases beyond your monthly credit
- Access to member-only sales and Daily Deals
- Credits roll over for up to 12 months if unused
Premium Plus Annual — $149.50/year (12 credits upfront)
Works out to about $12.45 per credit/month — cheaper per-book than paying monthly — with all 12 credits available immediately rather than trickling in monthly. A 24-credit annual option is also available for heavier listeners at $229.50/year.
Which One Actually Makes Sense
- Choose Plus if you mostly want unlimited streaming and don’t care about owning specific new-release titles permanently
- Choose Premium Plus if you want to build a permanent personal library, especially of longer or pricier titles where a credit’s value exceeds the $14.95 monthly cost
- Choose the Annual plan if you already know you’ll use at least 8–10 credits a year — the upfront batch is cheaper per credit than monthly billing
All three plans include a 30-day free trial, and Amazon Prime members get 2 credits instead of 1 on their first Premium Plus trial.
