Audible does not offer a dedicated multi-user family subscription plan. Instead, sharing works through Amazon Household, a feature that links two adult Amazon accounts together.
How Amazon Household Works for Audible
- Up to two adults can link accounts, plus up to four child profiles
- Both adults must live at the same address and be verified in the same country/region by Amazon
- Once linked, each adult can access audiobooks the other has purchased (with a credit or cash)
What Is NOT Shared
- Plus Catalog access (the included streaming library) is tied to each individual’s own membership and cannot be shared through Household
- Monthly credits stay with the paying account and are not shared or pooled
- Listening progress, bookmarks, and history remain private and separate between the two linked accounts
Only One Adult Needs a Paid Membership
One adult can hold an active Premium Plus membership and share their purchased library with the second adult, who does not need their own paid subscription to access those shared titles — though they won’t be able to stream Plus Catalog titles or use credits themselves.
Leaving a Household
If you leave an Amazon Household, you immediately lose access to the other adult’s shared library (and they lose access to yours), and you cannot join a new Household for 180 days afterward.
