Publisher’s Summary
A NEW YORK TIMES BEST THRILLER OF THE TWENTY-FIRST CENTURY
“[Tana French is] required reading for anyone who appreciates tough, unflinching intelligence, and ingenious plotting.” —The New York Times
A New York Times bestseller and “pitch perfectˮ (Entertainment Weekly) follow-up to Tana French’s runaway bestseller In the Woods, Cassie Maddox has transferred out of the Dublin Murder Squad—until an urgent telephone call brings her back to an eerie crime scene.
The victim looks exactly like Cassie and carries ID identifying herself as Alexandra Madison, an alias Cassie once used as an undercover cop. Suddenly, Cassie is back undercover, to find out not only who killed this young woman, but, more importantly, who she was.
The Likeness is a supremely suspenseful story exploring the nature of identity and belonging.

What Audible Listeners Are Saying
4/5 stars — “A giant step forward”
This is French’s 2nd in her Dublin Murder Squad series, and where she made some typical freshman misteps in her first outing, all that is past by this one. Great characterizations, wonderful willingness to avoid the typical reductiveness of the genre. A great ear for dialogue, and an extremely able hand at presenting characters from either gender with authority. She will continue to deliver well crafted, bitter sweet and humane mysteries from here on out.— barry, Audible listener
5/5 stars — “always love Tana French!”
Great story, as all Tana French novels are. I like the character development and the fact that I dont have it all figured out halfway through.— Suess, Audible listener
4/5 stars — “a strong premise”
Fascinating characters and tense moments. At times the dialogue continues when action might be a better choice. This book took a long time to end.— Zara Altair, Audible listener
